Workforce Employability Lab ProgramHuman Resource DevelopmentWorkforce Employability LabThe Craven Community College’s Workforce Employability Lab provides training people need for today’s workforce environment. These skills include communications, computer and financial literacy, problem solving, positive attitudes and behaviors, adaptability, and the ability to work with others. Program participants will be encouraged to participate in the ACT WorkKeys® program to earn Career Readiness Certification (CRC), recognized nationwide by employers. Activities offered within the Employability Lab program allows participants to assess themselves against employment standards of reading, mathematics and writing; to develop career goals and identify employment opportunities matching the skill levels. One-on-one assistance is available as needed. The Lab is located in the Business, Industry and Technology Building on the New Bern campus. It is open Monday - Thursday afternoons from 1 – 4 p.m., the program format is open-enrollment. Registration fee is $175 plus a $5 tech fee; however, Human Resource Development courses are free to qualified participants who are unemployed, have been notified of a pending lay-off, or are underemployed. Underemployed persons are those working part-time and/ or those eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit. Program Learning OutcomesPersons completing the program can:
