Craven's Continuing Education offers courses and programs helping thousands of adults enhance their career options, learn new skills, explore hobbies, open a small business or simply learn more about the world around us.

Programs and offerings

  • Adult Enrichment are “self-supporting” and open to all adults. No participant is exempt from payment of the registration fee for these programs.

  • Basic Skills Program helps you finish high school, earn your GED or learn to speak English. Basic Skills also offers a Compensatory Education program for adults with developmental disabilities.

  • Computer Classes helps you become more productive in the digital age.

  • Customized Training supports the economic development efforts of the State of North Carolina by providing education and training opportunities for eligible businesses and industries.

  • Distance Education includes Online courses, Ed2Go classes, enabling learning at home.

  • Environmental and Safety covers environmental health and safety concepts with emphasis placed on managing the implementation and enforcement of environmental health and safety regulations associated with quality control and management.

  • Human Resources Development/Employment Readiness programs can prepare you for employment or a better job.

  • Lifetime Learning Center offering fun and engaging classes, programs, special activities and trips to keep adults excited about learning.

  • Health Programs training is provided in many areas through the Continuing Education Workforce Development programs.

  • Courses in Public Safety including:

  • Small Business Center helping proactive entrepreneurs along with other training and education opportunities.

  • Workforce Development courses help you hone your skills and become more productive on the job or at home.

The Workforce Development offices at the New Bern Campus are located in Suite 102 of the Brock Administration Building. Meanwhile, the Workforce Development offices at the Havelock-Cherry Point Campus are in the Institute of Aeronautical Technology.
