How do I apply for admission to Craven Community College if I cannot come to the college?

If you have not previously applied for admission, and been accepted to the college, you can:

Click here to apply either online or on paper and fax the paper version.

Contact the Admissions Secretary, at 252-638-7227, to be referred for counseling. The counselors will answer your questions about available programs, other admissions requirements such as testing requirements, identify your advisor, and provide further instructions on registering for classes.

I am now accepted as a CCC student, how do I enroll in a Distance Education course?

Confirm available dates and times of registration for each term. Call or email your advisor for specific course information, a registration appointment, or to enroll in your classes over the telephone.

I am now enrolled in Distance Education course(s), but how do I get my books for my class(es)?

You may buy your books from the Online Bookstore.

Students wishing to use the Online Bookstore to purchase books with their Pell Grant must follow these procedures:

  • Notify the Financial Aid Office in writing at least one week prior to regular registration and include the cost of the books.

The North Carolina Community College System FOLDER and SREB Electronic Campus list additional distance education courses throughout North Carolina and the South. You can search by college or university, discipline, level and state for more detailed information, including course descriptions and how the programs and courses are delivered.

What is the difference between an online class and a hybrid class?
A hybrid class incorporates parts of both online and classroom settings. You will complete parts of the course online, but will be required to attend some classes on campus. This type of class is used when there are significant parts of the curriculum requiring hands-on labs or practical experience.

An online class is one in which 100% of the instruction is delivered through the Internet.

I have forgotten my password.
There is a “Forgot Password” link on the login page in Blackboard. You can enter your username or email address and Blackboard will send a link to you where you can reset your password.

I sent an email to my instructor, but they haven’t responded. What do I do?
Due to the large number of emails received by your instructor each day, it may take a couple of days for them to contact you. If, after the second day, you have not received a response, contact them by phone, or email their supervisor or Dean. Their supervisor or Dean's contact information should be provided in their syllabus and under Faculty Information. The supervisor will attempt to contact the instructor on your behalf. Your instructor’s phone number and office hours should be posted in the Staff Information folder in Blackboard.
