The Chadwyck Poetry databases contain the full-text of thousands of poems from hundreds of authors, ranging from the 17'th to 20'th centuries. These databases are:

ACCESSING CHADWYCK POETRY DATABASES
In order to access these databases from off-campus, you will need an NCLIVE username and password. You can obtain them by either visiting the library in person, calling us at (252) 638-7272, or e-mailing the library at libraryc@cravencc.edu. You must be currently enrolled at CCC and have a valid library card with OUR library. If you call or e-mail, please be prepared to give us your library card number.
SEARCHING CHADWYCK POETRY DATABASES
Searching these databases is easy, and works the same way with each one.
There are three basic searches: Keyword, Title, and Poet.
If you remember part of a poem, but don't know who wrote it, or the title, use the Keyword search.
If you remember the title of a poem, use the Title search. If the poem doesn't have an official title, use the first line of the poem in the Title search.
If you're looking for all of the poems by a particular poet, enter that poet last name, followed by first name in Poet search. (EX: Hughes, Langston)
You can also limit your searches by publisher, publication date, gender, or literary movement.
PRINTING AND SAVING
To print, click the Text Only link above each poem. Once you're on the Text Only page, click File-Print. To save, click File-Save.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
On each poem is a link to an author page. That will lead you to basic biographical information about each poem, as well as the literary periods and movements they fall into.
