Craven Community College Criminal Justice program gives students an understanding of the criminal justice system and teaches them the operations needed in today's law enforcement world.

In this three-year associate's degree program, students focus on the criminal justice system, criminology, juvenile justice, criminal and constitutional law, investigative principles, ethics, and community relations.

Employment opportunities exist in a variety of local, state, and federal law enforcement, corrections, and security fields.  Employment examples include police officer, deputy, sheriff, county detention officer, state trooper, and loss prevention specialists.

Students who complete an associate's degree in Criminal Justice Technology are ready to go to work right away.  A 15 credit hour certificate is also available.

Craven's Criminal Justice degree is available completely online.  Courses are offered in the evening on the Havelock Campus to help working adults complete their degree

The program has a very active Criminal Justice Society, which sponsors field trips and community service projects.
