9.  Service Testing Pumps - (NC Certification)
This course will explain and demonstrate the proper methods and procedures used to test fire service pumping apparatus for service testing.  Underwriters Laboratory Certification, Acceptance Test, Annual Service Test, and other testing and priming tests required for fire service pumps.  The mathematical calculations will also be explained and practiced.  Full turn-out gear is required.  This course will meet the objectives related to Service Testing for NC Certification.  NOTE: This class is not for junior members. 

 

10.  Emergency Vehicle Driver -- (NC Certification) This  course deals with the safe operation of emergency vehicles, driving skills, legal implications of emergency drivers, and departmental standard operation procedures.  This course is a stand-alone certification and is also a prerequisite to Driver Operator certification by the N.C. Fire Rescue Commission.  Students will drive on an obstacle skills course.  Valid current driver's license required. This class will begin on Friday evening at 7pm.  Friday evening attendance mandatory.  NOTE: This class is not for junior members.

 

11.  Introduction to Pumps -- (NC Certification)
This course will explain and identify job or individual requirements for pump operators and will detail safe operation of the vehicle.  It will also detail the safe operation as well as the basic aspects of positive displacement and centrifugal pumps.  NOTE: This class is not for junior members.
