New and Expanding Industry Training

Through the North Carolina customized training programs and Craven Community College, companies seeking to locate and expand in Craven County find an unparalleled competitive workforce training advantage. North Carolina was the first state in the nation to initiate free customized training for new and expanding companies, and is the only state in the nation to be named top five in each year of the annual Expansion Management rankings of state training programs. Within North Carolina, Craven Community College is a training leader, recognized as a pacesetter in manufacturing and information technology programs, a designated ACT Center, and a 2003 national Bellwether Award workforce development finalist.

The New and Expanding Industry Training program, sponsored and funded through the North Carolina Community College System, provides free customized training to North Carolina manufacturing, technology, customer service, and/or warehouse/distribution companies creating 12 or more new production-related jobs. The training services provided through the program are as diverse as the companies served, and may include elements such as customized curriculum and training media development, temporary training facilities, pre-employment orientation and training, technical and performance skills training, and reimbursement for specific company instructional expenses. Dedicated experts are available to assist in designing and delivering each program.
