Tuition and Fees

In-State/Out-of-State Tuition

In-State (per semester/credit hour) $56.50

NOTE: The N.C. General Assembly determines tuition at all N.C. Community Colleges. Tuition rates are subject to change by action of the N.C. General Assembly. Tuition rates last updated. July 1, 2010.

The N.C. General Assembly increased the in-state tuition by $6.50 per credit hour bringing it up to $56.50 per credit hour and out-of-state tuition by $7.20 per credit hour bringing it up to $248.50 per credit hour.

Activity Fees

1 to 6 semester/credit hours: $16.00
7 or more semester/credit hours: $32.00

NOTE: There will not be an Activity Fee collected for the summer term.

Computer Technology Fees

All curriculum students charged fall, spring, and summer semesters: $16.00

In addition to the Computer Technology Fees, a $5.00 fee will be collected from each Continuing Education student taking a course that uses a computer lab.

Security/Parking Fee

Per Semester: $10.00

Curriculum students may purchase additional permits for $2.00 each. Continuing Education students may purchase permits for $2.00.

Summer Supply Fee

A $10.00 per course summer supply fee will be charged for all curriculum degree courses.

Professional Liability (required for certain courses such as nursing, medical assisting, etc.) $16.00

Senior Citizen Fees

NOTE: Senior Citizens, 65 years of age or older, who meet North Carolina requirements (G.S. 116-143.1) as residents for tuition purposes pay no tuition for state funded courses.  North Carolina senior citizens also receive a waiver for parking and student activity fees for courses taken that constitute six hours of credit or less per semester.  Seniors who take more than six hours of credit courses per semester will be charged the parking and student activity fees.  Picture ID with birth-date must be presented to qualify for waiver of tuition.  Other fees if applicable are not exempt.


Graduation Fees

Cap, Gown and Tassel (approximately): $30.00

Diploma Fee: $10.00

Associate Degree Hood (approximately): $30.00

Transcript Fee: $3.00

Refund Policy

Summer 2010

A 100% refund shall be made if the student withdraws prior to the first day of class(es) of the academic term.

This means you must withdraw prior to:

  • May 24, 2010 for the 8 week term
  • May 24, 2010 for the 10 week term, and

A 75% refund shall be made if the student withdraws prior to or on the 10 percent point of the term:

  • May 28, 2010 for 8 week term
  • May 28, 2010 for 10 week term
