Watch us grow!

Craven Community College has several major building projects in progress on its New Bern campus. The following links will take you to current photos of these projects:

  • The Advanced Machining Annex to Kelso Hall, funded in part by the federal Economic Development Administration. The college's Board of Trustees in October 2005 awarded a $749,000 contract to a Kinston construction firm for that project. Work is now complete.
  • The new 35,438-square-foot Business and Information Technology Building, which is being funded through the 2000 Higher Education bonds. Included in this project is the construction of the final segment of the loop road around the New Bern campus, as well as the construction of a new maintenance building. Work on the loop road and maintenance building is now complete; construction on the Business and Technology Building is under way.
  • The new 30,000-square-foot Bosch and Siemens Advanced Manufacturing Center, which will offer state of the art training in advanced manufacturing methods and techniques. The college received $3.7 million for the building in 2005, and is expecting a $3.7 million state appropriation in 2006. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new center, which also will house Craven's early college high school, was held in April 2006. Bids for construction were awarded in March 2007.
  • A new parking lot on the Havelock campus has provided much needed space for students' and college employees' vehicles.
