Application Process

Those who apply for the position of president of Craven Community College must submit the following:

  1. A letter of application, not to exceed five pages, that clearly addresses the leadership characteristics listed in the Craven Community College presidential profile found on the college's web site.
  2. An up-to-date and complete resume, including the applicant's work and home addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers (home, office, and mobile).
  3. A reference list that includes telephone numbers, addresses, and e-mail addresses for at least five references.
  4. Applicants must complete a Craven Community College EEO form found on the presidential search web page and submit that with the application.

It is important that these materials clearly describe the leadership characteristics listed in the presidential profile. The application letter must show how the applicant is prepared to serve as Craven Community College's president. The initial review and screening will be based on this application information.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, to ensure full consideration, applications are encouraged no later than April 11, 2008.

As a part of the screening process, the Search Committee will ask a short list of applicants to answer questions, with their responses to be recorded on CD or DVD and forwarded to the Search Committee.

Review and screening of completed applications will begin immediately upon their receipt. As noted above, applications received after April 11, 2008, are not guaranteed a review by the search consultant or the Search Committee.

In addition, an electronic copy of the application (letter of application, resume, and reference list) in Microsoft Word format or PDF format must be simultaneously sent to moseleyv@cravencc.edu. These should be combined into one document or file and attached to an email.

Confidentiality is ensured until candidates are selected for interviews and campus visits.
