POSITION TO BE FILLED: Faculty - Physical Therapy Assistant Program- 12 months

FULL OR PART TIME: Full-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION: Faculty - Physical Therapy Assistant Program- 12 months

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Physical Therapist license in North Carolina; master's degree with a minimum of five years experience in clinical practice in a variety of settings, including active participation in the PT/PTA working relationship.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the physical therapist assistant (PTA) curriculum; adhering to accrediting agency requirements; developing budget requests; assisting with securing clinical agencies; ensuring the quality and integrity of the College's academic programs; fulfilling basic faculty functions such as curriculum design, development, and evaluation; teaching; identification and assessment of appropriate student learning outcomes; and institutional and professional service. Education and experience in instructional design and methodology preferred; Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred; leadership and supervision experience preferred. The preferred candidate will have community college teaching experience and familiarity with computer based instruction. Note: Position is pending the North Carolina Community College System Office approval of Craven Community College's Physical Therapy Assistant program.

SALARY LEVEL: College Salary Plan Level 15: $ 48,684 - $60,864

SELECTION PROCESS: All completed applications that meet the minimum requirements are referred to a screening committee. The committee selects candidates for interview and then recommends the top candidates to the divisional Vice President. The divisional Vice President in turn, will make a recommendation for employment to the President. The President will make the final hiring decision. The Human Resource Office will notify all applicants when a position has been filled. All applications will remain active for one year should other openings occur.
