POSITION TO BE FILLED: Sociology Instructor

FULL OR PART TIME: Part-Time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in sociology or a master's degree in a related area with 18 graduate hours (gsh) in sociology.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred. Responsible for teaching students who have varying backgrounds and skill levels, and other duties. Must be able to work as a team member and possess an understanding of and commitment to the unique role of the community college. Teaching assignments may be at either the New Bern or Havelock campuses and may include day, evening, weekend, and online courses. Official copies of transcripts must be submitted with the application.

SELECTION PROCESS: All completed applications that meet the minimum requirements are referred to a screening committee. The committee selects candidates for interview and then recommends the top candidates to the divisional Vice President. The divisional Vice President in turn, will make a recommendation for employment to the President. The President will make the final hiring decision. The Human Resource Office will notify all applicants when a position has been filled. All applications will remain active for one year should other openings occur.
