POSITION TO BE FILLED: Security Officer
FULL OR PART TIME: Full-Time
JOB DESCRIPTION: Security Officer
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years experience in security environment. Valid NC driver's license. Ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills required. Conflict resolution skills required. Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Provide for the safety of all personnel frequenting Craven Community College. Maintain security and fire protection for facilities and capital equipment assets to include the radio station; assist other security officers in carrying out the mission of the security department. Conduct routine security patrols on foot and by vehicle around parking lots, buildings, and radio antenna, placing special interest in the safety of people on campus and fire protection; patrol for vandalism, theft, alcohol and drug use, breaking and entering and be alert to any weapon(s) that may be brought onto campus. Provide students and visitors with information regarding the locations of classes and community events.

SELECTION PROCESS: All completed applications that meet the minimum requirements are referred to a screening committee. The committee selects candidates for interview and then recommends the top candidates to the divisional Vice President. The divisional Vice President in turn, will make a recommendation for employment to the President. The President will make the final hiring decision. The Human Resource Office will notify all applicants when a position has been filled. All applications will remain active for one year should other openings occur.
