Student Orientation
To promote rapid and sound adjustment to the educational philosophy, program, and standards of the College, all new curriculum students are required to participate in an orientation session for new students, offered each term. The objectives of the orientation program are to:
1. Acquaint the new student with the College, its facilities, resources, services, activities, policies, and organizations
2. Assist the student in taking full advantage of the opportunities offered by the College
3. Help the student in developing effective approaches to the problems frequently encountered by beginning college students
Counseling
Student Services extends counseling services beyond those available through faculty advisors. Counselors provide professional help to students regarding issues affecting the students academic progress.
College Transfer Assistance
Student Services can assist students in making a smooth transition to four-year colleges. Counselors in Student Services can provide transfer admission guidelines, course equivalents, applications, catalogs, and personal contacts from North Carolina colleges and universities.
