Application Process
Craven Community College is comprised of two campuses. (New Bern and Havelock) Management and staff positions become available throughout the year. All positions will be advertised individually as they occur. Please visit the listing of current openings and descriptions.
All interested individuals MUST complete an application which must be signed and dated.
Application materials will only be accepted for open, posted positions. A resume with a cover letter detailing how the applicant's education, training, and experience directly relate to the listed minimum/desired qualifications and job description is required. If the minimum qualifications require a degree a photocopy must be submitted with the application.
NOTE: Incomplete application packets WILL NOT be eligible for consideration.
Selection Process
Applications are dated upon receipt and remain active for one year, or until applicants are considered for a position, whichever comes first. As appropriate positions become available or if a position is immediately available the individual's application will be included for consideration.
Applicant packets will be reviewed and applicants meeting the minimum requirements will be forwarded to the Chair of the Search Committee. The committee will then review the applications and invite the top applicants for an interview. Once interviews have been completed, the committee will then recommend the top candidate to the divisional Chief Administrator. The divisional Chief Administrator in turn, will make a recommendation for employment to the President. The President will make the final hiring decision. The Human Resources Office will notify all applicants when a position has been filled. All candidates will be contacted in writing informing them of their status in regards to the position; in addition you can view the status of a particular position by visiting our Job Status link.
Applications will be accepted until a particular position has been filled, however, if the position has a closing date, applications received after this time will not be considered for that position. Vacancy announcements that have a screening begins date will be given preference to persons who apply by that date. The search committee process for full-time positions takes 30 days.
