How to Handle Your Cache Cached page settings impact the success or failure of your attempts to log in successfully to Blackboard at CravenCC.
If you have attempted to log in to Blackboard or other sites unsuccessfully, check your browser cached page settings.
If you are working at a computer that has Internet Explorer 7.x, Internet Explorer 5 or 6, or Netscape 4.7 or higher, you MUST review your cached page settings to ensure successful login attempts.
What you may not know about cached files and web browsers..... EVERY installation of Internet Explorer or Netscape uses DEFAULT settings that ALLOW cached web pages. The DEFAULT setting is set to AUTOMATICALLY and is intended to make web pages load FASTEST for users who use dial up or 56k modem connections.
Review your web browser settings for either Netscape and Internet Explorer by performing three steps.
(Step 1) Address Browser Settings, (Step 2) Clear Temporary Internet Files and (Step 3) Close all browser windows, open a new browser window and revisit theweb pageyouaretrying to access.
This is how you check your cached file settings for either Internet Explorer 7.x, Internet Explorer 5 or 6, or Netscape 4.7 or higher.
If you use Internet Explorer 7.x as your web browser:Step 1: On the Menu Bar, Click Tools, Internet Options.

On the General Tab, in the BROWSING HISTORY, click Settings.

Be sure Internet Explorer is set to "Check for newer versions of stored pages, Every visit to the page". If it is NOT set to this option, CHANGE it to ensure accurate login attempts at all times on the computer you are using.
Click OK to accept the change you made in Internet Explorer 7.x.

Internet Explorer Step 2: After clicking OK, you will see the General Tab.
In the BROWSING HISTORY frame, click the Delete Files button.
This removes online and offline cached pages from your computer.

Internet Explorer Step 3:
Click APPLY, Click OK, and then close all browser windows. Open a new browser window and load the BlackBoard login page, again. Login now.
